welcome baby Jax

On the morning of May 31, 2011 I woke up at 6:30 and started to feel a little presure. I figured since no one in my family goes into labor on our own that it was just some crazy feelings I was having and my body was just preparing for labor. Throughout the entire day I just kept having the small contactions, now that I know!! My sister was here from St. George and so Mayla wanted to play with her cousins so I dropped her off around 5:00pm just so I could get some things done. I went to walmart, and then got my hair cut. I remember telling my friend/beautician that I was having these little pains through the day but they werent really bad. Well after I got my hair cut it was about 7pm. I went to my moms and then the contactions became stronger. We all really still had no idea if I was really in labor or what because it is not a common thing with us. I then called my Dr and she said yup you are in labor. She said to go in to the hospital as soon as they start to curl my toes. WEll, of course I wasn't ready for this, so Todd and I went home to get some things for us and Mayla. Not really being all that excited to go through labor again, I was taking my time and even was cleaning up the house. At that point my toes were curled.
We went to drop Mayla's stuff off and Todd gave me a blessing, then we went to the hospital. When we got there the nurses were surprised to see us, that's because the hospital rooms were almost all taken except for like 2 rooms. It was a busy night!
I almost had to wait for another 2 hours for my epidural, but luckely the anesthesiologist came in to my room before heading into a C-section. I was so greatful!! Then it was the waiting game. I had my mom and Angie there as well to keep my company.
Just a side note that I want to remeber, My Dad stayed with the kids and Mayla had a hard time going to sleep there. She has never been without Todd or I  putting her to bed and has a pretty strict routine. My dad ended up holding her until about 12:30 before she fell asleep. What a sweet papa.

Around 12:30 I was ready. I really was giving myself a little pep talk about pushing. Trying to get my self all geared up for the long hall. Well, after about 1.5 pushes my Dr. told me to stop..What? I couldn't believe it, he was out. Now I know why women have more than 1 baby. That was soooo much easier.
We welcomed Jax Elias Jorgensen on June 1, 2011 at 1:20 am. weighing 7 pounds 7 ounces, 19.5 inches long.

I was starving!! the only thing I had for dinner was a small bowl of cereal, I think that was because Todd didn't leave me any food, to his defense he didn't know I hadn't ate yet.  I couldn't eat anything once I was at the hospital so the first thing I did after holding Jax of course was eat.
