Just getting the kids ready for bed and they were being to cute that the camera had to come out.
Mayla is such a sweet big sister. She has really adjusted well to having Jax around. In turn he sure loves her.

Lets take a moment to discuss his bed time habits. At 6
months he was still waking up 2-3 times a night and wanting to be fed. At his
Doctor appointment I expressed this and our Dr. said he obviously doesn't NEED
to eat, it is just him wanting to be soothed. That is all it took. That night
Todd was out of town and so I knew it was the perfect time to try the "cry
it out" trick (since Todd is a sucker for a kid crying). The first night
he woke up a few times but only for a little bit and then went right back down.
The second night he woke up once and cried for 20 minutes but then went back
down on his own and slept the rest of the night. He had a few more nights of
just small spats of crying but all-in-all it worked like a charm.
What really took me so long to try it was his and Mayla's rooms are so close that I was worried he would wake her up and then I would be by myself with two kids awake in the middle of the night and have to deal with them both. We bought a noise maker and put it in Mayla's room which really drowned out a lot of sound. She Never woke up once through it all and I wished I would have tried it sooner.
Now he is the best when it comes to sleep time. We just feed him a bottle, give him a binky and his blanket and walk out. He may cry for a second but that is it and he sleeps from 8pm until between 7-8am. Love it!!

Just being 'crazy town' when we are trying to get her to settle down.
Mayla on the other
hand has a very specific and long night routine! She won't let you miss one
step of it either or she with not go to sleep, and sometimes with sob in her
room until you come back in and fix what you missed.
Just a run down:
1. get Pajamas on 2. brush teeth 3. go potty 4. take fluoride tablet, she must choose one even though they are all the same 5. get a drink of water 6.choose 3 books 7.put blankets on her, not just any will do. must have her pink flowers blanket first then the castle blanket with the castles facing the right direction 8. read the books 9.say prayers 10.turn lights off and turn on her lamp 11.sing 3-5 primary songs 12.say good night.
That is a set schedule of events. there is no way around it and every step is vital.
Most of the time she requests for Todd to handle ALL of the steps, when he is in town. Lets just say, I am grateful when he is in town!
