Mayla was so excited for her birthday this year. She couldn't wait to turn 4. She has really started to want to help me in the kitchen. When she knew I was making her cake that got her even more excited to help. She always asks, "ok mom what we going to do next" after each step. She did a great job mixing the batter.
We wanted Mayla to decide what kind of cake that she wanted for her birthday. She said she wanted a tower like Rapunzel. This got the ideas rolling. I found some ideas on line and asked Todd for his opinion. Well lets just say that he was more excited than Mayla. He jumped right in a took over.
We wanted to make the entire thing out of cake, but soon realized that cake weighs more than what we thought. This had to get the idea wheel turning. We ended up using Tupperware, ice cream cone and plastic cups to build the tower. After about 2 hours it was finished. I would have to say it was an awesome collaboration. Good job DAD, that is one happy little girl!
We had a bunch of family there and enjoyed some dinner. She was very spoiled by everyone. We ended the gifts with this surprise. We had her stand there and cover her eyes and then said "open" she turned around and was a little stunned at first. Then was all sorts of excited.
Jax didn't waste any time to jump on in. He can't wait for a ride!
If you look close you may see a stick coming out of the back of the cake. Lets just say that the tower was leaning by the end of the night. Good thing we have some builders in the family and were able to brace the tower up long enough to sing!
Blow out that candle
I sure can't believe our sweet little Mayla is 4. She is such a wonderful addition to our family. She loves to watch Dora, Diego and all the little kid shows on net flix. Lets just say she can run my ipad better than I can. She enjoys more and more playing with her friends. She always has, but now asks to play with them more. She LOVES her pre-school. They get to do swimming and tumbling. She wasn't too sure about swimming for the first half of the year, but now she only wants to do swimming. She is enjoying coloring more and likes to draw her own pictures.
We call her a hoarder in the making. She likes to keep everything that she finds or that someone gives her, and then sleep with that item. It doesn't matter if it is a box or a rock she found outside, she will probably put it under her pillow before she goes to bed. She just gets attached to things and doesn't want to let them go.
She is an awesome big sister. She doesn't always want Jax to play with her toys but she shows a lot of patience with him and wants to play with him more. He in turn idolizes her. He want's to always know where she is.
There is so many things we love about our Mayla. She is the joy in our life and we wish her a very Happy 4th Birthday.
