Datwyler Family Reunion

July 27-29
For my moms side of the family we headed up to Blackfoot Idaho for our family reunion. My moms cousin has a beautiful cabin there where they do elk hunts in the winter. It was about 40 minutes up the canyon and was just beautiful.
The kids all wanted to ride horses. Papa saddled this one up and took the kids for rides. Mayla was so excited to go on her first big horse ride.

Jax was being so cute and loving his daddy.
Todd even managed to get a work out in.

Waiting for a horse ride.
Mayla was apparently worn out from all the fun. She fell asleep sitting on Aunt Julie's lap and so we laid her down on the couch and I think she slept for about 2 1/2 hours, and with a lot of commotion going on around her, I would say she was out cold!
It is not hard to guess where Jax would be, out playing in the rocks. Great Grandma was helping him put the rocks in cups.

Mayla and Sadie played for a long time in the dirt. They make cookies with their glow sticks. It didn't take long for Jax to join in.

Those are 2 cute girls covered in dirt. Lets just say Mayla's bath water was black.
Aunt Jessie planned the scavenger hunt. All the kids got a turn reading a clue.

A group decided to go on a hike. Jax was asleep so I stayed behind. Mayla wanted to go with her cousins so Aunt Angie took her along. Little did they know just how far the hike was, and pretty much straight up hill. I zoomed in as far as I could and they still were so far away. Mayla wouldn't have made it without the help that she got.
The next hike I was able to go on. It was a beautiful hike pretty much up a horse trail littlerally up the mountain side. We had someone meeting us up at the top to get a ride back because some people in our group had to get back. Just as we reached the top we saw the ride turn around and head back without us. We seriously missed them by minutes. So we headed back on foot. Finally they had turned around and came back to get us. It sure was longer than we anticipated but it was with good company so I can't complain too much. Little 8 year old Rylee made it the entire way.

For one of the kid activities we made boats. Papa had all the wood cut out and sanded and then the kids decorated their own.
We then headed to the little creek to have a boat race. Mayla really didn't like her boat in the water. So she carried it.
Mayla and Sadie are best buddies. They just love to spend time together. The only time they were apart is to sleep.
Everyone wasn't there all at the same time, but this is most of the group that came.
Great Grandparents with the little kids.
