Trip to St. George

October 18, 13
I decided to head down to St. George with the kids and my parents to go see Angie and her family. I get a little anxiety just thinking about Jax being in a car for 6 hours but he actually did really well. Mayla was so excited to see her cousins.
The first day we headed over to fiesta fun center. Jax wanted to play all the games that had to do with throwing something or a ball. He had a blast with Papa.
We then headed to the bumper boats. I was surprised at how much Jax did not like this. From the first moment that we had water sprayed at us his was done. It was all I could do to keep him in the boat. We finally had to call it quits.
They girls were nice enough to take Jax on a ride.
Mayla driving her VERY slow car. It was pretty funny how slow they really were. She had a smile the entire time though.
The next day we headed out to a farm. They had it all set up so cute with so many things for the kids to do and play on. Jax liked the tractor.

We rode on a wagon to the corn maze. We made it half way and then turned right around and tried to make it look like we didn't. I am not sure if it worked but it was our only option to get out.

They stared here on the ship and then went through a small cardboard maze.
It was such a beautiful day.
The kids could go in with the goats and Jax was more than excited to pet them. He had no fear at all and was even getting a little rough with them.

They had this huge tarp that had air blowing from underneath it. So it made this domed tramp. They had a great time sliding down it and then trying to climb back up.
We finished with picking our own pumpkins. They each chose a pumpkin.
We bought some paints and supplies and they decorated their pumpkins
Our last day we headed up to snow canyon to the park and went on a little hike. It was so beautiful and was the perfect little hike for us.

Jax walked the entire way. He didn't want any help which was a little hard considering it did get a little steep. But he was a  little mountain goat and trudged along.
We made a stop at the sand dunes on our way out. The kids had the best time here. The sand was so soft and just felt so nice between the toes.

Jax loved to roll down the hill, which in turn got sand everywhere. He had to much sand in his pockets and diaper that we could have made a small sand box with.

We had a blast with everyone and were glad that we could visit. As a side note, Jax developed this terrible cough. He had it periodically at home but once we arrived he got worse. I seriously tried everything from herbal to store remedies. Nothing seemed to help. We went to the instacare and the Dr. gave him some steroid because they worried it was going to croop. Ohh wow did that do a number on him. He has never eaten better but wow did it make him moody! He didn't sleep very well from it. Hind sight we found out that he should have only had one dose not a week of it!!
One night he would not stop coughing. He was coughing very hard and so I got pretty concerned. I tried a couple things and finally woke up my mom and we headed to the ER. Can I just say I will never go to an ER unless someone is hurt badly. They had NO clue what to do for him. We tried a breathing treatment which did nothing and so they gave him some medicine for nausea, go figure! And then gave him a Popsicle and we left. So 2 minutes after we left Jax was throwing up. I turned right around and headed back and the Dr had already left, and no one had a clue! So we left. Needless to say a $500 visit to buy a Popsicle!! I was so mad that I took him in at 3am none the less. What a joke. When we got home I took him to his pediatrician and he pretty much said what they did was pointless and not done correctly. He gave us the correct medicine and figured out that it was all due to extreme allergies which then acted like asthma. Ohh brother is all I have to say. Thank heavens for a wonderful Dr at home. Definitely was one interesting journey! Through all this he really was a happy kid and still had fun doing everything that we did.
